Joan Pulupa, Ph.D.

Joan Pulupa fell in love with microscopy and the nucleus as an undergraduate. She pursued her Ph.D. at Rockefeller University with Dr. Sanford M. Simon. At Rockefeller, she developed techniques to monitor protein dynamics in living cells using polarized light microscopy. During her postdoc at Columbia University working with Dr. Stavros Lomvardas, Dr. Pulupa studied gene regulation and genome organization in olfactory neurons using live-cell microscopy.
